Deepening our cultural life

“The Guthrie Theater is at the heart of my cultural life, and each season my joy seems to increase with the magical interpretations of the classical and contemporary work on our main stages, and in the Dowling studio with commissioned fresh scripts or productions from our fellow Twin Cities theaters. And so I decided that I wished to make a planned gift to support my pride and passion: a charitable lead trust, which expresses my deep feelings for the Guthrie as well as guaranteeing my ability to enjoy Guthrie productions throughout my lifetime. Even during challenging economic times, those of us who believe in the lasting contribution of live theater to inspire and deepen our lives must step up to the mark and make significant contributions to sustain and ensure a robust future for our flagship Guthrie theater.”

Creating Joy

“We have been subscribers to the Guthrie Theater since it opened in 1963 and we are proud to say that we have never missed a main-stage play. From a young age, theater has enriched our lives and we can’t imagine our community without the Guthrie. As longtime subscribers and annual donors, we felt it was important to include the Guthrie in our estate plans because we wanted to make sure that something as glorious as the Guthrie is there for the coming generations to learn from and enjoy.”

Delighting and inspiring lives

“I take great pride in knowing that I founded the Guthrie Theater costume shop in 1963. The Guthrie is now a part of my will because I want to be sure that the high standards of quality established during almost half my life working and contributing to the success of the theater will continue. I urge our wonderfully faithful audiences to do the same, and help high quality live theater delight and fire the imagination of both young and mature alike into the next generation.”
